  5. Richmond for the murder of his family in Westfield, N.J., in
  6. 1971; of five counts of first-degree murder; in Elizabeth, N.J.
  7. List's attorney admitted the accountant had killed his wife,
  8. mother and three children but claimed he had a mental problem
  9. that made him incapable of aborting the plot once he had
  10. conceived it. A prosecution psychiatrist said he merely suffered
  11. from a mid-life crisis. List, who had taken a new identity and
  12. wife, was spotted by viewers of the TV program America's Most
  13. Wanted.
